Ben A. Birdsell - As founder of the Association For Effective Schools,
Inc., established in 1989 as a non-profit organization devoted to implementing
Effective Schools Research, he continues to serve as its President. Through
his leadership, the Association for Effective Schools, Inc. has developed
and provides many highly valued programs, services and affiliations in
support of schools striving to improve education and demonstrate the fact
that "all children can learn". He also serves as a consultant
to state departments of education, educational agencies, districts and
schools across the United States and in Canada and Europe.
Ben Birdsell has extensive experience as presenter,
trainer, facilitator and advisor on all facets of Effective Schools Research
and processes. Over the last eleven years he has devoted much of his time
to schools in Kentucky and New York, using the More Effective Schools Process
as the means to successfully implement their statewide reforms and improve
student achievement. His professional affiliations include Phi Delta Kappa,
ASCD, AERA and the International Congress for School Effectiveness and
School Improvement. Ben is always willing to share his knowledge, skills,
methods and ideas in support of others who are committed to the improvement
of education.
Dr. Robert E. Sudlow - As Assistant Superintendent for Instruction in the
Spencerport Central School District from 1973 until his retirement in 1991,
he was Director of their More Effective Schools/Teaching Project, the origin
of the More Effective Schools Process. Currently he is a consultant to
school systems implementing the More Effective Schools Process and a presenter
at many national and state effective schools conferences.
He is a contributing author to the Effective Schools
Research Abstracts and has published a number of articles dealing with
effective schools. He was a member of the Editorial Board of the Effective
Schools Report. His professional affiliations include Phi Delta Kappa,
ASCD, AERA and the International Congress for School Effectiveness and
School Improvement.
